Der Infobib-Server, bzw. das entsprechende Rechenzentrum zieht um. Daher ist heute bis morgen mit etwas längeren Down-Zeiten zu rechnen.

Man regt höflich die Entfernung eines Plugins an. Was geschieht? Man weckt Erwartungen. Aber wie das im Bibliothekswesen so üblich ist: Innovationen erledigen wir um Vorübergehen. Wer also auch unterwegs nicht auf Infobib verzichten kann, kann es nun dank WP Mobile Pack auch komfortabler nutzen.

Das Bibliotheksblog Infobib bietet seit einiger Zeit eine nützliche Linkliste zur Debatte um den “Heidelberger Appell”.

Schön, das Wort Bibliotheksblog mal in Mainstream-Medien zu lesen. Für die Hobby-SEOs: Die Auswirkungen auf den Traffic ist äußerst gering. Am selben Tag kamen nur 86 Besucher vom Perlentaucher. Zum Vergleich: Stefan Niggemeiers Hinweis führte fast 200 Besucher zur Materialsammlung.

Heute abend um 18 Uhr wird Infobib (hoffentlich nur) kurz offline sein. Es werden ein paar Arbeiten am Server statt.

Today at 6 pm Infobib will be down for ca. 1 hour for some maintenance work.

In den nächsten 2-3 Tagen kann es zu kleinen Aussetzern kommen. Infobib zieht auf einen nigelnagelneuen Server.

Wenn unser Blog also kurze Zeit verschwunden ist: Seid gewiss, wir kommen wieder. Strom bleibt natürlich öko.

Was das Thema des Tages ist, lässt sich aus den Logfiles so klar wie selten ablesen. Die Bastelanleitung zum Large Hadron Collider sprengt gerade infobibsche Trafficrekorde. Passt ja auch gut zum gerade angekündigten Big-Data-Special…

Wenn’s mal ein bißchen langsamer gehen sollte, bitte ich daher um etwas Geduld.

Noch was zum Thema für Freizeit-Apokalyptiker: Solange man http://hasthelargehadroncolliderdestroyedtheworldyet.com/ aufrufen kann, beantwortet sich die Frage vermutlich von selbst. Wenn die Antwort nicht gefällt, kann man sich hier auch selbst darum bemühen, den eigenen apokalyptischen Vorstellungen auf die Sprünge zu helfen. Danke an Stefan für den Hinweis!

When you are inspired by the idea of connecting global librarianship and maybe you are a bit talented in graphics: Make a book cover and send it to us. Deadline is 6th of July. We will make a public vote for the winner. And the winner wins the book cover. ;-)

Mir ist schon verschiedentlich aufgefallen, dass viele Blogpostings, auch solche, die mir sehr interessant erscheinen, häufig unkommentiert bleiben. Sowohl hier bei Infobib als auch anderswo. Gelesen werden diese Postings jedoch, daran lassen schon die Statistiken keinen Zweifel.

Warum schweigt der gemeine Blogleser? Ist in den entsprechenden Postings alles gesagt? Wohl kaum. Betreiben wir mal eine kleine Ursachenforschung.

In den letzten Tagen kam es ab und an zu kleinen Aussetzern, auch, aber nicht nur beim Layout. Das hat einen erfreulichen Hintergrund: Seit ein paar Tagen wird Infobib mit Strom aus erneuerbaren Energien gespeist. Besten Dank, und zwar längst nicht nur dafür, an Matthew & Meinhard von Ecobytes!
